iTunes + iPod on PC, worked before, now it’s not(details below)?
On Friday, I got an iPod and used it until the battery was out. So I downloaded iTunes to recharge it and I got this balloon saying “New Hardware Found: iPod”. I had a problem with disconnecting the iPod from my computer, I was supposed to press the buttons on the sides of the USB end of the iPod, but I just pulled. It didn’t work and more “New Hardware Found” things popped up. Then, finally, I successfully disconnected the iPod without damaging something. Then I got “There was a problem installing your hardware. Your hardware may not work properly when you connect it.”. On Sunday, I charged my iPod but iTunes didn’t detect it. I tried Add Hardware Wizard and dis/reconnecting the cable but it still doesn’t work. I run iTunes 7.3 with an iPod nano of 2GB designed for Windows XP.
You didn’t properly download itunes. Put in the disk fo itunes and follow the directions. When you are done and you have your ipod plugged in it will tell you that you have an unknown hardware found. It will ask if you trust it. Say yes. To unplug your ipod ALWAYS wait until it says OK TO DISCONNECT. And ALWAYS use the buttons to unplug it…it will always work.
Good luck
