questions before iphone purchase?

just need to clarify some concerns before i make a decision to buy an iphone.
can i assign different ringtones & picture id to different callers? ( could be deal breaker if not)
can i load free music onto iphone from downloads & from cd.
do i have to go through itunes to install apps & music ? (could be deal breaker if yes)
are there many free apps available?
can i get free streaming video & radio?
is xm radio available?
can i install “amaze” ?(free gps nav app that offers satelite hybrid view & 3d view with voice directione as well)

You can assign pictures/photos and different ringtones to each contact.
You can load music onto your iPhone from ripped CD’s but you have to do it with iTunes through your computer. You do not however have to use iTunes to install apps. You can download those over the cell network. Large apps may require WiFi.
There are tons of free ‘apps’. Most of my apps are free.
Streaming video is limited unless you have ‘Slingplayer’ or ‘Orb’. It has YouTube and Joost. NBC.com videos also work.
There are a couple of free internet radio apps including Pandora for the iPhone.
No XM or Sirius yet that I know of.
I don’t see ‘Amaze’ in the app store. Turn by turn GPS is a rumor to be coming though.
